Although only particular Kzin were selected to be subjected to the sthondat-lymph drug and turned into full fledged Telepaths, almost every Kzin without exception was born with a rudimentary telepathic sense, which they called Ziirgah. This sense had evolved to allow the Kzin to sense prey while hunting. It was also used to read the emotions of sentient beings, in fact, Kzin became attuned to the emotions of their comrades and could sense human feelings without even doing it consciously.[1] Some non-telepath Kzin were rumored to have developed their Ziirgah sense to the point of being able to plant or suggest feelings in the minds of others. Whether or not this is true or simply speculation remains to be proven.[2]
